Dr. James Byun
Founding Sr. Pastor
Dr. Byun was born in Seoul, Korea but immigrated to the United States when he was 2 years old. He grew up in a Christian home and his father is a retired Presbyterian Pastor in San Francisco. Dr. Byun has over 20 years of ministry experience.
His passion is to see people fully engaged as disciples of Jesus Christ. He has been a resource for several churches in regards to generating discipleship, small groups, and leadership development ministries. He has served on the faculty of the Global Leadership Development Institute of JAMA (Jesus Awakening Movement for America) and has also served on the Board of Directors at JAMA. He is currently serving on the Board of Trustees at Dallas Baptist University. He is also on the Board of Directors of Korean Baptist English Minister’s Fellowship (KBEMF).
He was ordained in the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) in the US. He and his wife, Heather, have four children (Karis, Kara, Joshua, and Joseph) and they reside in Songdo.
